Martindale Items.

Messrs. Ross Shackelford, Frank Whitcomb, Sam Hicks and L.M. Terry made a trip to Ashby last Friday to haul lumber for the erection of a new house for "Dad" Shackelford who had the misfortune to loose his house by fire about two months ago.

We had the pleasure of witnessing a good game of ball at Survey a few days ago. It was much better a game than the score of 87 to 103 would indicate.

D.S. Rector and wife, left Monday for McPherson county, to make a visit. They will be gone a week or longer.

Judge Harms is reported to be in Omaha. He expects soon to build up a town on his place which is located upon the proposed railway in Survey Valley.

J.H. Fredinburg and family left Tuesday for Rushville to make a few days visit with his brother at that place.
